Mike Carroll-Owen is a qualified youth worker, counsellor of children and adolescenses and NVQ Assessor. He is the founder of UTRUK, which he came up with the concept of the charity after facing ‘CSE’ as a young person himself. For years he has fought for equality of male survivors of ‘CSE’ as there is a significant gap between provisions for Male and Female CSE surviors, for which in January 2017 he was awarded an ‘Associate Fellowship’ to the Royal Commonwealth Society through the ‘Queens Young Leaders Awards’ for his work around young men & boys ‘CSE’.
